Schoolboy’s murder: Protesters block KKH, demand arrest of five suspects
MANSEHRA: The local people and family members of a schoolboy, who was hacked to death allegedly over sexually harassing a minor girl, blocked the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and demanded the arrest of all five suspects involved in the killing.
The protesters, who didn’t bury the body of the victim, Mohammad Hamad the entire day, were demanding the arrest of suspects. They blocked the KKH by placing the body on it. The passengers and motorists remained stranded for over an hour in long queues. The family members of the victim demanded arrest of all suspects nominated in the first formation report (FIR) lodged in the Pulrah Police Station.
The protesters dispersed peacefully after getting assurance from Tehsil Nazim Khurram Khan Swati and Assistant Superintendent of Police Arif Javed that the accused would be brought to justice.
District Police Officer Shahzad Nadim Bukhari told reporters that two main accused in the murder case of the boy had been arrested and the others would soon be sent behind bars. “We have arrested two brothers Khawaj Mohammad and Mohammad Miskeen and the others would be arrested soon,” he added.
The schoolboy was kidnapped when he was collecting leaves for fire along with his mother and hacked to death afterword which sparked protest.
