Bid to oversee NAB chief will be resisted: PTI
ISLAMABAD: The PTI on Saturday condemned reports about bringing the chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) under a board through an ordinance.
In a statement, Secretary Information Fawad Chaudhry said the PTI would strongly resist every attempt to amend the NAB law to facilitate Ahad Cheema, House of Sharif and any other criminal.
Chaudhry warned the incumbent government against amending the NAB law to favor criminals.
He said the PTI will stand with institutions and any venture by the PML-N in this regard will be confronted on all relevant forums.
He said any law affecting the Supreme Court and NAB’s performance will not be acceptable. “The Supreme Court has already ruled that a legislation serving the interests of an individual is injustice,” he said, adding that any law that contradicted the Constitution will be revoked.
Taking a jibe at the Sharif family, he said they should make a law and declare themselves above the law once and for all.
