Malik notes ignoring Kashmiris plight at HR moot
ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Senator Rehman Malik has taken serious notice of the matter wherein Ministry of Human Rights has not placed “the sheer violations of human rights in Kashmir” on the agenda of the first-ever International Human Right conference in Pakistan.
In a letter to Ministry of Human Rights of Pakistan, he has directed to apprise the Committee as to why the issues of human rights violations in Kashmir and killing of innocent Pakistanis across LoC were ignored and not included in agenda of the conference. Malik directed that what were the motives of Ministry of Human Rights behind ignoring the issue of human rights violations in Kashmir by Indian forces, particularly in February in which the government of Pakistan observes February 5 as “Kashmir Day” in solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their fight against Indian brutalities. —Correspondent
