PAC meeting adjourned for lack of quorum
ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hit with the quorum syndrome on Wednesday and adjourn the meeting without taking up the agenda. In the absence of PAC Chairman Khursheed Shah, another member of the committee, Syed Naveed Qamar, was tasked to chair the meeting and another member Sardar Ashiq Gopang waited for other member to complete the quorum to hold the meeting, but the meeting adjourned due to lack of quorum. PAC was to examine the audit paras of the Ministry of Railways particularly briefing on overall position on Railways land, including Royal Palm and Country Club and briefing on CPEC projects of the Ministry of Railways.
The parliamentary experts observed the absence of the members and hitting of quorum syndrome to parliament’s accountability committee may have a reason that countdown of the election season has started and now the member wanted to give more focus to their constituencies.
