CHARSADDA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Fazal Shakoor Khan on Tuesday claimed he had rejected an offer of Rs30 million in return for vote in the Senate election scheduled for March 3.
Talking to reporters, he said he joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as he was very impressed with the revolutionary steps taken by the provincial government.
The MPA, who was earlier part of the Awami National Party (ANP), alleged that the nationalist party during its previous government promoted VIP culture and its ministers committed massive corruption. He said previous ANP-led government did a great injustice not only to Charsadda district, but also to the rest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Fazal Shakoor said that after parting ways with ANP, he had joined the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) but its local workers didn’t accept him wholeheartedly, prompting him to join the PTI. He said he still had cordial relations with the JUI-F leadership.
