LAHORE: A Karachi-based cricketer committed suicide on Tuesday after he was dropped from the Under-19 team. According to information available here, Mohammad Zaryab, son of former international cricketer Amir Hanif, committed suicide after he was dropped from Karachi’s Under-19 team for being older than the standard requirement. Zaryab did not take well the news of his expulsion from the team and hanged himself from a piece of rope. Zaryab had played for Karachi Under-19 before. International cricketer and father of deceased Zaryab, Amir Hanif, said that his son had committed suicide as he was under a lot of stress and pressure. “My son was disappointed with the attitude of the coaches,” he said. “We should take steps to save others’ sons,” he added.
