Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has submitted a report with the Supreme Court regarding building bye laws approved by the CDA board for the wedding halls.
The building bye-laws are meant for regulating wedding halls which have been working haphazardly on Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, Sector E-11 and elsewhere in the federal capital in absence of any laws for them.
The CDA board would allow construction of wedding hall on a plot having a minimum area of 2,000 square yards while 50% covered area would be permitted with maximum two floors. For every 250 square feet covered area, there should be parking space for one car while the basement would be meant only for purpose of car-parking.
The owners of the wedding hall would also directed to get the structural and building plan approved by licensed engineer and architect. It had also been proposed that minimum of the wedding hall would be 100 feet having reliable fire-extinguishing system. In absence of any sewerage system, the management of a wedding hall would have to establish a treatment plant or any create any other approved alternate system.
