Troops to the Kingdom
The military cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia – the two brotherly countries with a history of cordial ties – is nothing new as Pakistani troops were sent to the Kingdom in the past as well. This cooperation did not threaten any third country as the objection was to extend a helping hand to Saudi Arabia to safeguard its territorial integrity and
sovereignty.
Pakistani troops were never used against any other country in the past nor they would be used now. However, some vested interests are trying to give a wrong meaning to the development. Saudi Arabia is home to the holiest shrines of Islam and Muslims have an obligation to play their part in protecting these sacred sites. We must not forget that Saudi Arabia came to rescue Pakistan on a number of occasions to bail out the country economically. It has also provided its diplomatic support at different regional and international forums as well.
