Australian envoy calls on governor
PESHAWAR: Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Margaret Adamson, called on Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra here at Governor’s House on Monday.
He remained with the governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest.Political Secretary Hugh Boylan and Political Officer Mateen Ameen also accompanied the Australian high commissioner.
The governor said peace had been restored in Fata after success of military operations. After repatriation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs), he said billions of rupees were being spent on developmental projects to restore infrastructure.
Jhagra said government was implementing Fata reforms as the jurisdiction of higher judiciary was being extended to tribal region.He said that Fata would also be merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the wishes of the people as soon as possible.
