FAISALABAD: Additional Sessions Judge Shakeel Sipra on Monday ordered registration of a case against SHO Basharat Ali, ASI Liaqat Ali and 10 other policemen of Gulberg police on the charge of killing a man in an alleged police encounter on Millat Road two months ago.
The accused were involved in the alleged encounter of Muhammad Asif. They included Jamshed Qamar, Muhammad Hanif, Habib Ahmad, Gulzar Hussain, Wasim Ahmad, Ali Nawaz, Adeel Ahmad, Muhammad Rafique, Abu Bakr, Shahid Nadeem and Ahsan Ahmad. The court had ordered registration of the case on a petition of victim’s mother Parveen Bibi.
MAN KILLED ON RESISTANCE: A man was shot dead on resistance at Naimat Colony on Monday. Tariq Rauf of Jalvi Market was on his way when the dacoits intercepted him and tried to loot valuables. They shot him dead on resistance.
ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE: A man was killed in a road accident near Aziz Fatima Chowk on Monday. Muhammad Ali was on his way by a bike when a speeding vehicle hit him. As a result, he died instantly.
