Personal life under discussion in Assembly

LAHORE: Personal lives of political leaders remained under discussion during the Punjab Assembly session on Monday in which the PTI members justified the third marriage of Imran Khan while citing the examples of marriages of Shahbaz Sharif.

The PA session which started with a delay of around 50 minutes held the question hour session related to Housing and Urban Development and Minister Haroon Sultan Bokhari responded to the queries of legislators.

In the beginning of the session, Waheed Gull of the PML-N congratulated the PTI members on the third marriage of Imran Khan and later during the question hour session, Haroon Sultan Bokhari, the provincial minister also congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members over Imran Khan’s wedding with Bushra besides advising the male members of the House to marry at least four times.

These remarks ignited the PTI members and Sheikh Khurrem, an Opposition legislator while citing the three marriages of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif advised him to get married again.

The Opposition members also lodged a protest against the behaviour of Provincial Minister Haroon Sultan Bokhari when he refused to answer to a supplementary query while terming it a non-serious question. Faiza Malik of the PPP on the occasion stated that the minister’s attitude in fact had been non-serious with female members.

The proceedings were adjourned when an Opposition MPA pointed quorum which the House failed to meet. On the call attention notice submitted by PTI legislator Dr Nosheen Hamid on the murder of GCU Professor Dr Tanzeem Akber Cheema, the Speaker made it pending until Thursday as the law minister wasn’t present in the session.
