KP CM accused of taking kickback in BRT project

PESHAWAR: Ziaullah Afridi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) MPA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former provincial minister of KP while accusing the Provincial Chief Minister Peraiz Khattak of getting financial commission of millions of rupees in the Rapid Transit Bus, has submitted a resolution in the Provincial Assembly for investigation.

It is said in the application that the KP CM for the sake of getting commission approved the incomplete design of the contract, shifting the Peshawar city into ruins. He mentioned in the resolution that the corrupt CM was repeatedly changing design of the project to financially facilitate the contractors.

Afridi said awarding contract of incomplete design was illegal and a crime. In the resolution submitted in the assembly, he said that the incompetent provincial chief minister earned millions of rupees commission by awarding the bus project contract to M/S Maqbool & Kalson and after getting the construction contract they had changed the Peshawar city into ruins and the people of the city were facing many problems. Afridi called upon the KP Assembly to set up a committee to investigate the matter, determine the responsible.
