KP CM says PTI all set to sweep next election
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) would sweep the upcoming general election on the basis of performance.
"We will sweep the 2018 by-poll on the basis of our performance as we have honoured our pledges with the people. Reforms in police, education and health sectors are great achievements," he told a gathering in Zakhai.
The chief minister said that PTI chief Imran Khan had announced to change the elite-centric system in the country. "And we are following that slogan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The successful gatherings in various areas show people's confidence in our policies," he went to add.
The chief minister said that his government had done away with the practice of interference in the government departments. "Unlike past, the policy of merit is being followed in all government's departments in appointment," he added.
The provision of free medicines in hospitals was unprecedented in the history of the province, he said, adding, the condition of hospitals in far-off areas had improved.
The chief minister said the performance government schools and colleges had been improved through the policy of checks and balances. "We have appointed teachers through transparent manner to overcome shortage," he added.
Pervez Khattak hoped that the PTI would emerge triumphant again in the upcoming election as activists of other political parties continued to join it owing to its popularity.
Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, provincial minister Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, district nazim Liaqat Khattak and others were also present on the occasion.
