SUKKUR: The standard of public sector educational institutions in Sindh will be improved and philanthropists will be urged to help the government in this regard.
Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmad Khuhro said this on Sunday, while speaking at a ceremony held at the Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Larkana, for giving away awards and distribute prizes among talented students of the year 2014-15.
The minister said the education department will train 40,000 teachers of schools in Sindh in order to improve the quality of education. He said the government was committed to achieving its millennium development goals and improve the existing education system of Sindh.
He said training of teachers was a very important part of the field of education.Khuhro said the Sindh government has the resources to improve the ratio of literacy and also encouraging female education. He said every individual will have to play his part to ensure education of their children.
Later, the minister distributed prizes and awards among talented students of schools. He also distributed 204 ceiling fans to 102 government schools of Larkana district. The concerned officers of education department and local PPP leaders were present on the occasion.
