Shafiq’s blitz takes Islamabad into Disabled T20 Cup final

KARACHI: Shafiq Khan blasted 74 to put Islamabad in the final when they defeated Peshawar by 42 runs in the semi-final of the National Disabled T20 Cup at the Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Shafiq struck seven sixes in his quick-fire 47-ball knock to guide Islamabad to 139-9 in the allotted 20 overs.Leggie Abdullah Afridi got 3-17 and Nihar Alam captured 2-11.In response, Peshawar were folded for 97 in the 17th over.Abdullah Afridi (18), Nihar Aslam (16) and Sareerullah (15) were the main contributors.
Malik Kashif got 3-10, while Hamayat Khan captured 2-15.Islamabad will now meet Multan in the final to be held at the Pindi Stadium after PSL-3 which is set to begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 22.
