ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) administration here on Thursday dismissed Pervezul Qadir Memon from service who as an additional sessions judge had acquitted Axact CEO Shoaib Sheikh and 26 other fake degree scandal accused persons on October 31, 2016. IHC Registrar Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan here Thursday issued a notification in this regard at the directions of the IHC Chief Justice, Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi. Pervezul Qadir Memon last year admitted before an IHC departmental promotion committee (DPC) comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani for a receipt of Rs5 million bribe to acquit the Axact officials.

It is to mention here that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had filed an appeal against the acquittal of Axact officials and on last hearing a deputy attorney general (DAG) had told the IHC that the trial judge who acquitted Axact officials including its CEO had admitted receipt of Rs5 millions as bribe.

Owing to this factor there was no value for the acquittal decision and this case needed to be tried once again.

IHC administration suspended Memon on June 7, 2017 after issuing a show cause notice to him. Show cause notice was issued to Memon by IHC chief justice.

It is also to mention here that IHC administration completed inquiry against ADSJ Memon in August last year and the matter was then referred to the administrative committee where this matter remained pending till now. However the judge was finally dismissed from service.
