ISLAMABAD: Leading aspirants competing to become part of the Pakistan squash team for the Asian meet and later for the Commonwealth Games are currently going through trials at the Mushaf Ali Mir Complex.
The Asian Squash Team Championship for men and women will be played in Korea from March 21-25. Pakistan contingent will also participate in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games starting in Australia from April 4-15.
The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has organised trials for men and women in Islamabad on February 13 to select teams for these events.In addition to senior professional players, Pakistan Squash Federation has also invited few juniors to participate in the trials so that they could also get exposure of playing with seniors for better performance in future events.
Following is the list of players taking part in the trials: Men: Israr Ahmed (SNGPL), Amaad Fareed (SNGPL), Tayyab Aslam (ZTBL), Asim Khan (SNGPL), Farhan Zaman (PAF), Mehran Javed (KP), Kashif Asif (SNGPL), Mansoor Zaman (KP), Abbas Zeb (KP).
Women: Sadia Gul (SNGPL), Faiza Zafar (Sindh), Zoya Khalid (Army), Maria Toor, Samia Shaukat and Riffat Khan (Wapda), Madina Zafar and Aiman Shahbaz (SNGPL), Komal (KP).
