While different development projects like the Green Line bus project are a positive step towards improving Karachi’s infrastructure, the delay in the work and other design-related issues have caused problems for residents. In some parts of the city, underground water and telephone lines have been badly affected by the ongoing construction work. Telephones remained out of order for weeks, while residents patiently wait for water supply to restore.
Additionally, U-turns in many areas have been demolished due to which commuters have to take longer routes to reach their destination. Traffic congestion has become a daily occurrence. Both the federal and provincial governments must work together to deal with these issues that have disturbed the daily routine of people.
