On the directives of National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Inspector General Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, the Central Zone have launched a three-day comprehensive awareness drive against tinted glasses of vehicles, fancy registration number plates and unregistered vehicles, said DIG Mirza Faran Baig while reviewing the campaign at the Zonal Office, Lahore.
DIG Mirza Faran Baig said the vehicles with tinted glasses would not be allowed on national highways and motorway and strict action would be taken against the owners of the vehicles after the three-day awareness campaign. The vehicles will be impounded and heavy fine will also be imposed in case of violation, he added. He said that operation against the vehicles with tinted glasses would be carried out without any discrimination. He directed the NH&MP officials to remove the tinted and black glasses from the vehicles immediately after the three days. The DIG asked the owners of the vehicles having tinted glasses or fancy number plates to immediately remove them as they were in violation of the traffic rules.
