MIUC organises law symposium for youth
Islamabad: More than 1000 youth participated in the law symposium with leading law personalities of the country, organised by the Metropolitan International University College (MIUC), says a press release.
Former chief justice of Pakistan, senior legal and political analyst, leader of the freedom of judiciary and lawyers movement Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary attended the event and had an interactive session with the students of MIUC. Former Chief Justice also inaugurated one of a kind, state of the art courtroom at MIUC.
Senior Advisory Council members, Afshan Ghazanfar (advocate supreme court of Pakistan), Mr. Sheikh Ahsanuddin (advocate supreme court of Pakistan), Mr. Saliheen Mugal (advocate supreme court of Pakistan), High court and District court lawyers from the legal fraternity were also present at the event. The symposium aimed to provide a platform for students where they were able to learn from the best mentors of law fraternity first hand. The lawyers and chief justice himself were deeply satisfied and strongly appreciated the court room facility inaugurated after the symposium. They were of the view that such facilities are rarely seen in our country and effective use of the facility will enhance the skills of young lawyers of MIUC to a great extent. They were also eager to be a part of future symposiums and moot court sessions in the court room.
“Rule of Law, Constitutional Supremacy & Independence of Judiciary” was the topic chosen by former chief justice to enlighten the students. The massive crowd of youth enjoyed the session and engaged in an interactive question/answer session with the Chief Justice and other senior lawyers to know about the legal profession, the rule of law and governance in Pakistan.
The former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary expressed great delight with the facilities at MIUC and commended the role played by CEO RIS Mr. Walid Mushtaq for academic and professional development of students. The University of London Bachelors Of Law offered at MIUC gives the security of an internationally recognized education to the students. With its state of the art campus and highly qualified faculty MIUC is embarking on new ventures of academic excellence.
CEO RIS and Rector MIUC Walid Mushtaq expressed great satisfaction with the working of MIUC Law Department for development of students in all spheres of life. He reiterated his vision of “quality education for all” and being the biggest centre of academic excellence in the country.
Talking to the students Mr. Walid said that such symposiums provide the best learning opportunity to students and they should benefit as much as they can from them. He also said that his students are his pride and seeing them successful makes him the happiest. He promised to continue to work for the academic excellence of students and strongly appreciated the Law HoD Saniya Cheema and MIUC Director Humaira Shaheen for arranging such a grand event for the students and providing them an opportunity to meet the best in their field.
