Iesco nabs 83 power pilferers in twin cities
Islamabad: Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) in its drive against electricity thieves caught 83 power pilferers here in Rawalpindi and Islamabad region.
The Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) official spokesman Raja Asim Nazir said that they will not spare anybody involved in electricity theft. The Iesco chief has strictly directed to catch electricity thieves. “if any Iesco employee is found involved in electricity theft, strict legal and departmental action will be initiated against them,” he said.
The official spokesman said that in light of Iesco Chief’s directions prompt action is being taken against electricity theft in the whole region. Operation staff, M&T and Surveillance Directorates are taking part in drive against electricity theft, he claimed.
According to Islamabad Electricity Supply Company, during the month of January-February 2018 total 228 electricity thieves were caught in Iesco region. Among them 41 were caught in Islamabad circle, 43 in Rawalpindi circle, 71 in Attock circle, 29 in Jhelum circle and 44 in Chakwal circle.
The concerned police stations have arrested electricity thieves and registered FIRs against them. The Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) Chief has passed instructions to all field formations to spent time in field and check meters of all tariffs so that electricity theft could be curtailed.
Iesco Chief has also appealed to consumers to take part in this anti-theft campaign and if they find any one stealing electricity then call on Numbers mentioned on bill, call on help line “118” ,text to “Roshni” SMS Service 8398 or Call Iesco Central Complaint and Management Cell No. 051-9253206 -08.
