Rawalpindi: Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA) have removed 19 billboards from different areas in the city. The concerned authority is taking action in the light of Supreme Court directions to remove all billboards exceeding from 20 by 60 feet.
PHA Managing Director Captain (r) Anawr-ul-Haq told ‘The News’ that we have started crackdown against huge billboards in city. “We are only obeying Supreme Court directions,” he said. He told there are billboards in size of 30/90 and some of billboards are 40/120. We have issued warning notices against billboards exceeding 20/60 size.
He said “I have directed my staff to issue final warnings against owners of huge billboards installed at Fawara Chowk. Some of the owners have gotten stay orders from lower courts but we have Supreme Court orders in this regard, he said.
