LAHORE: The Pakistan Mint, coin manufacturing unit, has handed over 50,000 pieces of Rs20 commemorative coins to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), a statement said on Friday.
The SBP will issue the commemorative coins from March 17 to public in order to mark the 100th anniversary of Islamia College Peshawar. Head Pakistan Mint Raja Fayyaz Anwar said the coin has a composition of copper and nickel and its shape is round with serration on the edge. The words ‘Islamia College Peshawar’ have been inscribed along with serration of edge whereas ‘100 years of glory’ has been written in bold in the centre of the coin. At the bottom, ‘1913-2013’ has been written in numerical to indicate 100 years of Islamia College Peshawar building.
