OKARA: Doctors and paramedics on Thursday observed strike and took out a rally against the attacks on the ADHQ Hospital MS and gardener.
The rally was taken out from the DHQ Hospital up to the press club. The doctors were chanting slogans against the incidents. They vowed to continue the strike till the arrest of the accused. The doctors of the private hospitals also took part in the rally. Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Medical Association Okara president Dr Shahid Dogar, Dr Liaqat Ali Kausar, Dr Muhammad Azam Khan, Dr Iftikhar Amjad and Dr Khalid Hayat Bhatti warned of spreading the protest across the country. Earlier, work in the government hospitals, except emergency, remained suspended. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Faisal Rana has constituted a police team to arrest the accused.
OATH TAKING: The daily strike of the bar has slowed down the process of providing justice to the litigants, said District and Sessions Judge Rana Abdul Hafeez.
Addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of the District Bar Association in the Quaid-e-Azam Hall here on Thursday he said that the bar and judicial officers must chalk out some strategy to alleviate wastage of time in the judicial process. District Coordination Officer Qaisar Saleem and others also spoke on the occasion.

The function was organised by the Aurat Foundation at Arts Council Hall on Thursday. It was chaired by DCO Qaisar Saleem’s wife, Executive District Officer Rana Ashraf Javed and Arifa Mukhtar of the Aurat Foundation.
