India urged to honour UN resolutions on Kashmir issue

NOWSHERA: Speakers at seminar here on Friday said India had forcibly occupied Kashmir and denied the right of self-determination to the people of the valley.

They were speaking at the seminar which had been arranged at the Government Higher Secondary School Nowshera Cantt in connection with the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ which is set to be marked on February 5.

Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera Khwaja Mohammad Sikandar Zeeshan was the chief guest on the occasion.

Assistant Commissioner Nowshera Jamshed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Fazal Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Pabbi Mohammad Farooq Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Habib, Additional Director Local Government Sharafat Gul, Town Municipal Officer Afzal Khan, District Education Officer Fayyaz Khan, Government Higher Secondary School Nowshera Cantt Principal Ishtiaq Ahmad, Government Girls Degree College Principal Rozina Rahman and government officials, volunteers of the Deputy Commissioner Task Force were present on the occasion.

The deputy commissioner said that the Kashmir issue was a threat to the world peace as Pakistan and India both possessed nuclear weapons so the international community should make efforts to get this issue resolved.

He said that it was a question mark on the performance of the United Nations that the Kashmir issue still remained unresolved.

Khwaja Mohammad Sikandar Zeeshan said that Kashmir was Pakistan’s jugular vein and the country was incomplete without it. He said that sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people would not go waste and Kashmir would become part of Pakistan.

The students from the Government Girls Degree College Nowshera Cantt, Northern University, Government Higher Secondary School Nowshera, The Educator made speeches at the seminar to highlight the plight of the people of Kashmir.

They urged India to honour the resolutions of the United Nations by giving the people of Kashmir the right to self-determination.
