MNA says PTI govt non-serious towards Chitral problems
CHITRAL: Member National Assembly Shahzada Iftikharul Mulk on Friday criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for what he said was its non-serious attitude towards the problems of Chitral.
“The Golen Gol Hydropower Project has been completed. The government has agreed to provide electricity to the entire district. However, the electricity supply line in Upper Chitral is controlled by the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (Pedo) . This power line has not been repaired over the years,” he lamented.
The lawmaker added the Pedo also delayed agreement with the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) on one pretext or the other.
Talking to journalists here, the MNA said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders were playing politics over non-issues. He said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would formally inaugurate the Golen Gol Project today.
“The entire district will get electricity from the project,” he said and asked PTI and JI leaders to make Pedo-operated electricity line operative instead of instigating people to stage protest.
