JI to support PML-Q candidate for Senate seat
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch and Ameer Punjab Mian Maqsood Ahmad called on Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior leaders, including former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at their residence here Friday.
According to a press release, the JI delegation assured of the party support to the PML-Q candidate for Senate seat from Punjab Senator Kamil Ali Agha. During the meeting, views were exchanged in detail regarding prevailing political situation in the country and future political strategy.
Expressing complete solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemning in the strongest possible words brutal atrocities of occupying Indian forces, the leaders said that international community should uphold promises made with the oppressed Kashmiris on the floor of the United Nations and practical steps be taken for implementation of the Security Council resolution. Ch Shujaat Hussain and Pervaiz Elahi expressed thanks to the JI leaders.
