CM inaugurates several projects in Swabi
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday inaugurated several projects in Swabi district.
According to an official statement, the chief minister inaugurated the newly constructed tehsil complex and a gas extension project costing Rs12.5 million.
Addressing a big public gathering at Swabi during his daylong visit to the district where he also laid the foundation of Bada Dam, he said that the dam would cost one and a half billion rupees and would irrigate 3000 acres of land in the area.
Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaiser, ministers Mehmood Khan, Shahram Khan Tarakai, Member National Assembly Aqibullah Khan, Nisar Jadoon, Rangraiz Khan and others were also present.
The chief minister, while welcoming the entry of new entrants into the fold of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, stated that the joining indicated the popularity trend of PTI because of its policies, claiming that the PTI would sweep the 2018 elections.
Pervez Khattak said that because of its geographical location at distance from sea and the non-availability of raw material, lack of skilled manpower, the province had never been a feasible federating unit but now the situation has changed and foreign investors are pouring in their investment in different sectors in the province.
The pro-industrialisation policy of the KP government made it a feasible destination for both domestic and foreign investors, he added.
The chief minister enumerated his government’s steps for good governance that included discouraging interference in public sector institutions, giving priority to health and education sectors and providing equal chances to all to get their place on merit.
He said his government recruited more than 30,000 teachers to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in schools. We introduced Sehat Insaf Cards for free health care to the deserving people, adding that the provincial government eliminated corruption and ensured justice to all.
The chief minister announced establishment of a Girls Degree College in Gadoon, Rural Health Centre, a Basic Health Unit and need basis new schools in the area. He assured giving jobs to the locals in the Gadoon Industrial Estate on priority basis.
