SC seeks report on delay in appointment of state-run TV MD
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday directed information ministry to submit a report pertaining to delaying the appointment of new managing director for the state-run Pakistan Television Corporation and pointing out the official responsible for this delay and adjourned hearing until Thursday.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar while hearing a case of organisation's employees case took notice of non-appointment of new managing director of state-run television.
The court directed information ministry’s additional secretary to submit a report in this regard besides directing for providing details of salary package given to Ataul Haq Qasmi, former chairman who was looking after the affairs of the TV.
The federal government had appointed Ataul Haq Qasmi as state-run TV chairman after the retirement of former MD Muhammad Maalik. Qasmi was also looking after the affairs of the TV.
