Three more H1N1 patients die at Nishtar Hospital
MULTAN: Three more H1N1 patients died at the Nishtar Hospital here, raising the death toll to 38, the health officials said on Saturday. Mumtaz Bibi and Muhammad Wasim were the residents of Khanewal. However, identification of the third deceased could not be ascertained. Meanwhile, Dr Attaur Rahman said that two patients died on Friday night while the third patient died on Friday morning. He said that six new patients were admitted to the Nishtar Hospital during the last 24 hours. He said that two suspects belonged to Multan, three from Muzaffargarh and one from Jhelum. He told that one more doctor was among the fresh victims of the disease. Dr Saddam Hussain serves as the house officer at Ward No 4 and he was also admitted to the isolation ward of eth hospital, he disclosed. Now total 256 suspected patients were under treatment in Multan and south Punjab hospitals, he added. Meanwhile, Minority Rights Commission Pakistan Director Younis Alam said that the MRCP would offer special services for the victims in churches on Sunday (today). He underlined the need for spreading awareness about this fatal virus.
