Scottish official, SMIU VC discuss education matters

Chris Reilly, a senior official of Scotland’s international development agency, and Sindh Madressatul Islam University Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh on Wednesday discussed matters relating to promotion of education in Sindh and Balochistan.
Reilly has the responsibility of overseeing South Asia and sub-Saharan development projects pertaining to community development, micro finance, maternal health etc.
Dr Shaikh briefed the visitor on historic role the SMIU had played in education sector since colonial period in the subcontinent to the creation of Pakistan.
He also informed the guest about working of various departments of the university and the facilities available at the campus.
Later, Reilly visited the Jinnah Museum, FM radio and television studios and other sections of the university.
He appreciated efforts made by the SMIU administration in imparting quality education especially to the students belonging to lower and middle sections of the society. He vowed that dedicated joint efforts would be made for improvements.
