Gwadar Expo 2018 starts on Monday
ISLAMABAD: A mega event, Gwadar Expo 2018, part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be held at Gwadar on Monday.To be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will be participated by some major Chinese and Pakistani companies, besides representatives from regional countries including Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Oman, this was announced here on Friday by a senior official of the Chinese embassy Jiang Han.
It will be a two-day event that will also include inauguration of Gwadar Free Zone. He told newsmen that there will be around 150 booths at the expo. Interest for participation in the expo is quite high, since as many as 5000 people have applied for booths’ allotment. It will be first Mega Event in the history of Balochistan to highlight the significance of Gwadar and to promote Gwadar Port and Gwadar Free zone as emerging business hub.
The expo will be regular annual feature and it will be a big advertisement of Gwadar. It will also be a major step forward creating maximum awareness about the full scope of Gwadar projects.
The event will also provide a platform for interaction between local and foreign business entrepreneurs. Jiang Han hoped that it will bring on one stage the financiers, investors, entrepreneurs & government officials to exploit the benefits of this mega project for enhanced investment, business and employment opportunities. Some important dignitaries will be attending the event. Jiang further hoped it will be an opportunity to reach a large pool of industry stalwarts. It will be also vital platform for interaction between local & foreign business entrepreneurs.
