LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior central leader Choudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that his government had started the work on the forensic lab in 2007 but, like his other projects, Shahbaz Sharif stopped work on it and resumed it after six years and now he was taking its credit.

In a statement issued here Friday, the Punjab former chief minister said that the incumbent chief minister did not start work on their project relating to Mandi Bahauddin District Headquarters Hospital for 10 years. The Gujrat to Salem dual carriageway was their project but Shahbaz Sharif is now trying to take credit of these projects, the PML-Q leader said. Pervaiz Elahi said Shahbaz Sharif performed inauguration of work of Chak Nizam Malikwal Bridge for a fourth time while Nawaz Sharif had also cut its ribbon previously. He questioned as to why Shahbaz Sharif had not made Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital operational for 10 years if he claimed he had love for the people of Mandi Bahauddin and Gujranwala. He alleged Shehbaz had the habit of telling lies. "First he delayed our projects in Punjab and then changed the plaques and did dramas of taking their credit," Pervaiz Elahi added.

In every project and programme of Sahhbaz Sharif, embezzlement of billions of rupees is surfacing, alleged the PML leader. "Whatever scheme or project he started that miserably flopped and now he is mentioning our projects of Lahore metro train, Ring Road, forensic laboratory, land record and vehicles computerisation, child Protection and Welfare Bureau, farm to market roads and other revolutionary welfare projects for the common man." Shahbaz is now trying to become a hero for all these projects, Pervaiz Elahi added.
