PESHAWAR: The supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from constituency PK-3 Javed Naseem Tuesday staged a protest to demand withdrawal of a case filed against the lawmaker.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the firing incident outside the MPA Javed Naseem’s residence. The protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club and voiced anger.
Tahir Zaman Shinwari was leading the protest rally.Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the PTI’s workers besieged the house of Javed Naseem and opened fire on his residence but a case was lodged against the MPA. They said that PTI workers, not Javed Naseem supporters, resorted to firing.
He alleged that vested interest in the party was levelling allegations against certain party leaders to cause rifts in the party and workers. The protesters demanded the government to quash the first information report (FIR) against Javed Naseem.
