12,722 thalassemia-hit kids provided blood

PESHAWAR: Around 12,722 thalassemia children received blood transfusion at the Frontier Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood Transfusion Services, last year.
This was disclosed at an annual meeting held here with the foundation Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem in the chair, said a press release. According to annual report, 15,651 pints of blood were provided to the patients.
The participants of the meeting were told that 14,702 persons donated blood for patients suffering from thalassemia and other blood-related diseases.
