Public sector institutions urged to take more steps to facilitate people
Islamabad: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday urged the public sector institutions to take more steps to address the people's complaints to increase their confidence in them.
He gave the call for while talking to Federal Insurance Ombudsman (FIO) Muhammad Raeesuddin Paracha, who called on him at the Aiwan-i-Sadr here. On the occasion, the FIO also presented the 2016-2017 annual report of his organisation to the president.
The president said it was the foremost priority of the government to resolve the issues facing the people. "All institutions must fully utilise modern technology to facilitate the public so that they don’t have to travel unnecessarily and their problems could be resolved on their doorstep," he said.
The president appreciated the work of the FIO for protecting the rights of insurers. He also expressed satisfaction with the FIO's decisions regarding insurance policy and confidence of the concerned parties on these decisions during the last year.
The president asked the FIO chief to ensure the establishment of constant contacts with the government organisations, ombudsman, investigators and NGOs regarding the public awareness campaigns.
