RAWALPINDI: An official of the Pakistan Embassy in Vienna entrusted with a security related task has disappeared mysteriously. Tarnol police have registered a case against Zahid and his brother, father and wife under Section 109/409 and started an investigation.

Zahid is a resident of Mohallah Dhok Abbasi, Sarai Kharbooza, Tarnol. Muhammad Ishfaq submitted an application to the SSP Islamabad stating that clerk Zahid, son of Azizur Rahman, joined the Pakistan Army as soldier and was later promoted as clerk. The application said Zahid was posted to the Pakistan Embassy in Vienna in August 2017 on a sensitive security related duty.

The Defence Ministry officials in Vienna, Austria, informed the authorities concerned in Pakistan about Zahid’s disappearance on January 2, 2018 without prior information. The embassy also found that sensitive documents were missing. There’s a strong suspicion that Zahid has fallen into the hands of anti-Pakistan forces. Before disappearing, he sent his wife and children back to Pakistan. Despite repeated inquiries, the family members are not providing any information about him.
