Islamabad : An awakening evening ‘Mystical Musical colours of Karakoram’, gripped and enthralled a big audience of Sufi music lovers to reject extremism and embrace peace and love.
It was organised by Burushaski Research Academy in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA).
One hundred musicians hailing from Gilgit, Chitral, Hunza, Lahore, Karachi, London and Canada mostly young educated girls with Rababs, Dafs, Alghoza and flutes presented Sufi Kalam with mystical music in traditional dress and enthralled the diverse audience of ladies, gents and youngsters.
The organisers, musicians and audience through expression of their love for Sufi music called for revival of a society based on principles laid down by Father of the Nation, pluralism, unity of humanity and respect for all to give soft image of beloved motherland to the world.
Renowned Sufi Singers, Mehr Angez, Barkat Ali, Ambareen and Abid Karim spellbound the audience with their performance of mystical poetry of noted Sufi poet Allama Nasiruddin Hunzai in Urdu, Burushaski and Farsi.
‘Kalam’, ‘Ase Takht’ and ‘Ye tera ishq mujhe he sharab se behtar-Shamime kochai janaan gulab se behtar’ was highly appreciated by the audience.
