Korea’s Chung to miss Pak Davis Cup tie
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan tennis has received encouraging news for the forthcoming Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group I tie against Korea as their top player Hyeon Chung has opted out of the tie to be held at the Pakistan Sports Complex grass courts on February 2-3. The team that Korean Tennis announced Friday does not include Hyeon Chung (ranked 58 in the world). However, it has the services of world No 174 Soonwoo Kwon. Others include Youngseok Kim (ranked 677), Scongchan Hong (ranked 773), Yongkyu Lim (ranked 1238) and unranked Minjong Park. Jae Sik Kim is Korean team captain while Young Hong Kim is team’s coach. Pakistan team has already been finalized and includes Aisamul Haq, Aqeel Khan, Abid Ali Akbar and Muzammil Murtaza. Hameedul Haq has been named captain while Mushaf Zia will be team’s manager.
