Inter boards tug-of-war competitions conclude

TIMERGARA: The All Pakistan inter-boards tug-of-war competitions concluded at Gulabad College here on Thursday.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Malakand got first position in the contests by beating the Lahore BISE in the final match.

The Peshawar BISE team bagged third position. Before the final match, the players of Bannu and Peshawar boards presented traditional Khattak dance and won applause from the audience. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Member Provincial Assembly Nageena Khan was the chief guest. She distributed shields and trophies among the top three teams and best players of the event.

The chairmen of the boards were also awarded commendation certificates and shields. Speaking on the occasion, Nageena Khan termed the inter boards’ sports’ competitions a step forward for bringing the nation together. She said the PTI government had pledged to construct sports’ stadiums at tehsil level and the promise would be materialised.

The Malakand BISE Chairman Prof Shaukat Ali, Bannu BISE Jehan Dad Marwat and others praised the organizers and players for making the event a success.
