LAHORE
The Lahore High Court Monday sought a reply from the Election Commission of Pakistan till Tuesday (today) on acceptance of nomination papers of PML-N candidate Professor Sajid Mir, who is the ameer of Jamaat Ahle Hadith.
Petitioner Qazi Hussain Siraj submitted that the commission had accepted Prof Sajid’s papers on PML-N ticket, which was illegal.
He said Prof Sajid was ameer of Jamaat Ahle Hadith and he could not contest the election on the other party’s ticket. He requested that acceptance of nomination papers of Prof Sajid should be declared illegal and he should be restraint from contesting election on the other party’s ticket.
