How many people were there? Who says what?
LAHORE: Different figures are being given about the number of people attending the PAT rally, with Special Branch and police giving the total as 10,000 to 12,000 and 11,000 to 13,000 respectively.
The estimated figures given by different sources are: IB 12,500, other intelligence agencies 14,000, civil society 16,000, impartial sources 14,000 to 16,000.
Meanwhile, the PAT spokesperson claimed that they had arranged 25,000 chairs and the number of participants was 50,000. The number of people attending the rally had crossed the target, the party sources said.
But the sources in PTI off the record admitted that the crowd was much less than their expectations and 20,000 to 25,000 people attended the gathering. On the other hand, both PPP and PML-Q think that the crowd size was over 20,000.
