IGP pays tribute to slain traffic warden
PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin Khan Mahsud on Monday paid rich tributes to fallen traffic warden Sareer Khan who had embraced martyrdom recently while trying to protect women and children from a speeding trailer.
The IGP visited the bereaved family and offered his condolences to the family members over the death of Sareer Khan in Kheshgi Payan in Nowshera.The slain constable was performing duty in Jehangira town in Nowshera when he saw a speeding trailer reaching women and children who were crossing the road.
Realising the gravity of the situation, the brave constable, responded beyond the call of duty and jumped and saved the lives of the children and women by sacrificing his own life. The provincial police chief lauded the sacrifice of the traffic warden Sareer Khan.
The IGP said that the entire police force was proud of Sareer Khan, adding the sacrifice was undoubtedly the glorified manifestation of the commitment of the KP Police to serve and protect the people of KP. The traffic warden Sareer Khan is survived by his widow, seven-year old daughter Seemab Bibi and a son Amn (3).
