A world of potential
I have delivered many motivational lectures at different places, especially schools. One observation that I have made is that many students have no idea what they will do in the future. It seems that the majority doesn’t know that becoming a doctor or an engineer is not the only option available to them. In our country, many students don’t know how to polish their talent and skills. Some students have the ability to become great writers. Some can become good accountants. Many students know how to run a successful business. However, until matriculation, these students cannot polish their hidden talents. As a result, they end up studying subjects they have no interest in.
The reason behind this sad state of affairs is that many schools do not provide career advice to their students. Career counselling can help students realise their full potential. The world is full of surprises. There is so much to learn and discover. The world doesn’t end if a student cannot become a doctor or an engineer.
