26 Chinese workers suffer food poisoning
JHANG: Twenty-six Chinese workers, who were performing duty at the Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant, suffered food poisoning here on Sunday.
The Chinese workers felt severe pain in their abdomens after eating meal. They were rushed to the hospital amid tight security. DHQ Hospital MS Dr Habib Ahmed said that the condition of all Chinese was stable and out of danger.
Protest against MC officials: People on Sunday continued their protest for the second consecutive day against the municipality officials for granting permission to a man to demolish boundary wall of a children park for making a parking lot for his newly-constructed commercial plaza on Dhajji Road. The protesters alleged that the owner of the plaza had political influential due to which the MC officials granted him permission to demolish the park’s wall. When contacted, Jhang Municipal Committee’s Chief Officer Anwar Baig said that no permission was granted to the owner of the plaza to demolish the wall of the park. Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz while commenting on the issue said that the issue of demolishing the wall was not in his knowledge and he only allowed adjacent residents to extend their street towards the children park. The children park would remain in the same condition and its boundary wall while more facilities would be provided to the people under a special development project.
