Youth killed, brother injured in accident
LAHORE : A 25-year-old youth died and his brother sustained injuries when their bike collided with a dumper in the Barki area on Saturday.
The deceased man was identified as Ali Raza and his injured brother as Babu. They were on their way on a bike when their bike dashed into the dumper coming from opposite direction. As a result, Ali died and his brother sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, a man was killed by a speeding tractor-trolley in the Garhi Shahu area.
Victim Jasam Khan was crossing a road when a rashly-driven tractor-trolley hit and killed him. Passers-by caught the driver, identified as Afzal and handed him over to police.
Two bodies found: Two people were found dead in different parts of the city on Saturday.
A 55-year-old man was found dead in the jurisdiction of Factory Area police and a 35-year-old man in the Data Darbar police area. The bodies have been removed to morgue.
Protest against cops: The traders of Ghazi Road Saturday staged a protest demonstration on Ferozpur Road against the policemen for making their forced entry into a house during a wedding function on Millat Road.
The policemen had manhandled the people in the house and arrested one Haji Adalat. The protesters blocked the traffic on Ferozepur Road, burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the police. They dispersed after the release of Haji Adalat.
