IT need of the hour, says minister

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan Thursday visited the Government Army Public Girls High School, Model Town.

According to a handout, the minister inspected arrangements with regard to inauguration of digital and science labs, art room and early childhood classroom set-up by the schools education department to provide best education for the students. He talked to teachers and students and asked them to make education their top priority.

The minister said utilisation of latest information technology (IT) was need of the hour to made students meet international standards. He said education was the fundamental right of every child and government was committed to ensuring that no child was left illiterate. “We have ensured provision of quality education in the schools and for that purpose, IT labs have been setup along with installation of smart boards in different schools,” he said. Earlier, the minister presided over a meeting to review arrangements with regard to holding of an International Education Conference at Expo Centre on April 9-10. International education experts and representatives of development agencies will participate in it.
