Daniyal hits century in Karimabad win over Nazimabad

KARACHI: A 40-ball century from left-handed opener Daniyal Liaquat helped Karimabad defeat Nazimabad Lions by seven wickets in the Innovators Karachi League here at Naya Nazimabad Lawai stadium on Wednesday.

Nazimabad put up a great show with the bat posting 162-6 after winning the toss. Hassan Mahmood smashed 63 with five fours and one six, while Hamza scored 55. Shahbaz and Ali Butt took two wickets each.

In reply, Daniyal’s 53-ball 118 laced with 11 towering sixes steered Karimbad to the target within 18 overs. Abdul Qayyum bagged 2-43. Daniyal got Man-of-the-Match award of Rs3,000.In the second match of the day, Gulshan Tigers beat Keamari Warriors by seven wickets.
