Blind World Cup: Pakistan crush Nepal by nine wickets

LAHORE: Pakistan maintained its win run in the 5th Blind Cricket World Cup by winning the second consecutive match against Nepal at Gujranwala on Tuesday. Playing at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan beat Nepal by nine wickets.

Pakistan repeated its opening match win against Bangladesh at Lahore. Nepal gathered 258 runs while batting first. In this 40 overs match, Nepal blind cricketers lost five wickets. A large crowd was present in the stands to watch the match, amid strict security measures. Pakistan opener Badar Munir played a vital in the win. Badar completed his second successive century of the World Cup and was declared the man of the match for scoring 126 runs.

Mohsin Khan equally supported Badar by making 50 runs. Pakistan reached the score in the 20th over. The tournament includes teams from cricket-playing nations such as Australia, England and India.

However, only teams from Bangladesh and Nepal have agreed to play in Pakistan for now, while matches with other countries are scheduled to be held in UAE. India and Pakistan will face off in Ajman, UAE on January 12. Earlier Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Asif along with other officers welcomed the Nepal cricket team warmly upon reaching stadium.
