Cold, dry spell to continue

LAHORE: Cold and dry weather continued to prevail in the city on Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Met officials said dry continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country. However, light rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at a few places in Malakand division. Dense foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.

No rainfall was recorded at any city till Tuesday evening. Met officials said lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu and Astore where mercury dropped to -11C while it was -9C at Gupis, Gilgit -08, Hunza -07, Bagrote, Dir -06, Kalam, Ziarat, Kalat -05, Quetta -04, Rawalakot, Parachinar -03, Bunji, Drosh, -02, Chitral, Kamra, Mirkhani, Risalpur, Kakul, Malamjabba and Murree -01. In Lahore maximum temperature was 18C, minimum was 5C and humidity level was 41 per cent.
